Enlightening Wave
Creating intuitive human resonance in a playful interactive way
This project is dedicated to the phenomenon of resonance. In the prototype, we focused on achieving resonance in human behaviour in terms of rhythm adaption/adjustment using kinetic and visual means.
In collaboration with Petra Ritzer and Tayyib Cayirli
Concept brief
The purpose consists of creating resonance among three participants without verbal communication. By moving
the installation piece up and down, the colour of light indicates if the movement of participants is synchronised, i.e. in resonance. While white light declares the existence of movement, blue light only appears in phases of synchronisation; the blue hue also motivates the participants to sustain the synchronised state.
Accelerometers detect up-and-down movements; when synchronised, the Arduino MEGA changes the hue of the Neopixel LED strips from white to blue.
