City Fever

A poster-series depicting the impact of urbanised infrastructure on the microclimate of cities

This project was created to the topic 'Urbanisation' within an elective dedicated to infographics in print media. In collaboration with Anne Merod, we focused on how urban infrastructures influence the microclimate of cities, including impacts on vegetation and human health. We decided on an isometric style for illustrations as architecture is three-dimensional and shall be depicted as such. Each poster communicates one subtopic of the main theme which revolves around the effect of the urban heat island: 1) the definition and evolvement of urban heat islands, 2) the development of urban heat islands, 3) case studies and 4) its impact on vegetation and humans.

Academic research outcomes of urban heat islands studies have been visualised in appealing infographics, complemented by data figures respectively.

A minimalistic visual language is used, whether in isometric or planar visualisations.
